"overall, this is a fantastic album with brilliant fashioned inflections and vocal nuances - Jazzis is set to become a major talent in the scene..".
"Welcome to the world of Jazzis: the fresh sound of gospel soul. Although his name immediately suggests a connection with jazz music, I'd like to immediately betray that notion in favour of a simple but concise definition of this new phenomenon. The Jazzis experience can be described simply as a feeling of spiritual elation through a rich blend of musical styles and influences ranging from street gospel, to soul, dance, hip-hop, jazz and African pop. Already an accomplished songwriter, composer and singer, Jazzis is as unique as his name, having arrived on the scene, armed with the possibility of redefining the genre.
Writing songs and lyrics that stand up against mainstream artists, Jazzis releases his debut album, "Contemplative Soul" an intense Christ-centred - offering with top class melodies and beats. The album opens with "Dance to the Rhythm" which immediately singles out Jazzis as a force to be reckoned with. The dance number is urgently groovy with an encouraging message centred on the promise of a brighter tomorrow. On "In a Little Small Voice" Jazzis presents an infectious sci-fi Nureau, whie the urban jam, "Fly, Fly, Fly" delivers a smooth soulful vocal sound featuring excellent backing vocal nuances from Channel and Rosetta. "Contemplative Soul", the title cut, deserves much attention. It is a powerful love song that grabs you from the start. Its underlying message focuses on the euphoria of a new kind of love found in Christ while the highlight of the album, is "Jesus" an electrifying groove, which interchanges between Yoruba and English. Overall, this is a fantastic album with brilliant fashioned inflections and vocal nuances. Jazzis is set to become a major talent in the scene; he is definitely one to watch. "
